New year, new me. Just kidding, I find that so cliche. However, with a new year many changes do come. Changes such as the weather. And schedule arrangements. This Spring semester is my last semester of college, and I only had to take three classes in order to graduate. This allows me to have a lot more free time, and as a result I decided to take up running again. I used to run a lot back in high school but as college progressed, I got older, busier, and lazier.
As I try to get into the habit of running everyday, I come across problems that I have had before, and luckily I have found a solution to most of them. Today the problem was the climate. As the weather begins to heat up, my body needs to get used to running in higher temperatures. Usually, when I try to run in hotter weather than I'm used to, I get a headache later on that day because of slight dehydration and higher sun exposure. I have to gradually get back into the groove of running in the heat, and today was so hot I had to run indoors. Luckily, my gym has an indoor track which I prefer any day as opposed to a treadmill.
Take away lesson was to drink plenty of fluids before the run, and gradually increase time and distance spent outside. Don't forget sunscreen!
